Beautiful: A Carole King Musical
Role: Assistant Stage Manager
Beautiful, tells the story of the legend, Carole King and the story of her life. Its weaves it way through time periods and locations creating a jukebox musical that all can enjoy.
As a Assistant Stage Manager I was tasked with organizing backstage and ensuring all ran smoothly. I created extensive paperwork to communicate each scene change and tracking every prop entering and exiting from the stage. Part of my job was also working with a cast and crew who was apart of the summer camp that was creating the show. This meant catering my style differently so it was still a learning and teaching environment for the kids. This also meant that as a Assistant Stage Manager I needed to be very self-sufficient due to the fact that my crew had curfew they needed to make after rehearsal, tech, and show hours.
This all led to creating paperwork, an enviorment, and work ethic, that could support the large and beautiful musical.
